Here are just a few ways that our loved ones send us messages from heaven!
1.) Coins: When my Mom was little, her allowance was a dime. They have a funny
family story where she once swallowed one of her dimes. Years ago she told me that
she finds dimes in strange places and she thinks that they are little signs from her Dad. I
thought that was neat so I started paying attention and I started finding dimes in strange
places, too. Hi Grandpa! Now, were the dimes always there or am I just now more
aware?
Well, I think I sort of made an agreement with my Grandpa and decided that would be
my sign from him, too. I find dimes in all sorts of odd places and times. Once I was with
a friend and we were talking about a person we knew would be at a concert we were
attending. We didn’t know where they would be sitting but it was a crowded lawn
concert so we made our way and put some blankets down then we went to walk around.
When we went back to go to our spot I noticed that the person we were looking for was
literally sitting right next to our blankets! Right at that moment I looked down at my foot
and there was a dime! I picked it up and my birth year was on it. Strange.
I’ve been a primary school teacher for 15 years. I cannot tell you how often I have a
student come up to me during the day and say, I found this on the floor. And they hand
me a dime. I keep a little stack of them. Dimes will turn up in strange places. I was
telling my tax lady about the dimes and I said, for example there is one sitting right there
behind your computer. She was like, I had no idea it was even there! Ask a loved one to
send you a specific coin as a symbol and see what happens.
2.) Birds: Birds or feathers can be symbols from loved ones that have crossed over,
specifically cardinals can be a sign. My parents have had a female cardinal that has
pecked at their living room window for almost 2 years! They went out of town one
weekend and I stayed there to watch their dog and I could not sleep past 8am because
this cardinal was going CRAZY pecking at the window! I woke up and was like, what in
the world is that noise?? I got up and discovered her pecking at the window. I scared
her away when I opened the curtains but that did not deter her, she continued to LOOK
at me in the window and peck! We’re always wondering who it is that’s visiting and my
theory is that it could be my great grandma who loved looking out her window at birds
and even used to call me her ‘Little Red Bird’.
3.) Butterflies: Shortly after one of my grandmothers passed away, I was on a canoe
trip with a friend. A butterfly landed on my arm and just hung out there. I was like, Check
this out! It stayed with us, sat on me, would fly ahead and land on me again. It did that
for quite a while. I felt like it was a sign from my Grandma, I knew she liked butterflies.
Recently I had given a spirit reading for a client and I asked her if she was seeing signs
and symbols from her loved one. I mentioned butterflies and she said she would go
outside in September to take a few minutes to herself when she was feeling sad and it
was like a swarm of butterflies would show up! She said, I thought it was strange
because it wasn’t like you see tons of butterflies at that time of year and they seemed to
be drawn to me. Signs from loved ones!
4.) Songs: Have you ever been thinking about someone you’ve lost and you get in your
car and the song playing on the radio is a song that reminds you of that person? Spirit
has a way of delivering to us what we need, when we need it. We just need to open our
minds to the possibility. My friend lost her teenage daughter in a tragic car accident.
Two of her friends also passed away in the accident and her daughter loved Bob Marley
so the song, Three Little Birds, is always a sign for her. Sometimes she’ll walk into a
store or restaraunt and that song is playing and she knows that her daughter is sending
her a healing message.
5.) Messages from Strangers: Have you ever had a stranger come up and say
something to you that seemed out of place? Did it make you feel like it was exactly what
you needed to hear or else it reminded you of a loved one? They might even say
something like, I’m not sure why I’m saying this to you but…. Somehow that idea
popped into their head! Hmmmm, our loved ones are sending messages. My friend will
get random Facebook messages from people who know what happened to her
daughter and they will reach out and tell her something inspirational about her
daughter’s story and how it has touched their life.
6.) Electricity: Ever have random lights go out only to return back on again? I had a
party once and I had about 30 people in my small house and suddenly the light in the
kitchen just went out. Oops. So we got a ladder and just as the light bulb was about to
be changed, it turned back on! Ummm, ok. I had a dial radio that I always kept on in my
kitchen and very often I would come home and the channel was different. When I was
eleven years old I lost my great-grandpa. We were very close and I was heart broken.
One of the things we used to do was talk on the phone for hours. We would watch
baseball games together on the phone, I would read silly jokes to him from my dumb kid
joke books and he would just laugh and laugh. He lived alone and called often. We had
lots of messages from him on our answering machine and after he passed, I really
missed the phone ringing. It made me so sad that he wouldn’t call again. Then I had a
couple strange instances where the phone would ring and no one would be there. Even
at age eleven I thought, maybe he’s calling me from heaven!
It takes a lot of energy for spirit to send us the signs so next time you ponder, was that a
sign? Just accept it as a sign or symbol from a loved one and smile and remember
them. I think they would like that.
