Why You Should Have a
Himalayan Salt Lamp…

Why You Should Have a Himalayan Salt Lamp in Your Home, Office,
Classroom, Workplace…. I’m sure by now you have heard something about
Himalayan Salt lamps. They have been very popular for a while and people seem to
love them. But what are they and why should you own one?
Pink Himalayan Salt was formed millions of years ago and only comes from salt
mines in Pakistan. Himalayan Salt lamps range in color from orange, pink to very
light. They have a soft glow and should not be bright enough to light up a room.
They come in different sizes and shapes and no two are alike. They are hollowed
out in the center and many are mounted to some type of stand. My Himalayan Salt
lamps come with a cord and a lightbulb. You insert these into the hollowed out
center in the bottom and plug them in!

How do they work?
We are constantly surrounded by technology and devices which are emitting positive
ions into our environment. When the salt crystals are heated by the light they absorb
water and particles from the air. This produces negative ions and in turn helps to purify
the air by balancing these positive and negative ions. This makes them great for rooms
that have electronics in them!
Suggested benefits from Himalayan Salt Lamps can include:
– Helps clean or filter the air by eliminating some air pollutants
– Can reduce symptoms of allergies and asthma
– Helps reduce stress, creates a calm environment
– Improves mood
– Improves concentration, increased alertness
Himalayan Salt lamps range in sizes and shapes. If you plan to put one in your house
keep in mind the size of a room when picking out a lamp. The larger the room the more
beneficial it would be for a larger lamp or even multiple smaller lamps. They have a nice
soft glow which is ideal for bedrooms and can help with sleep. I have them in almost
every room of my house and even in my classroom! Keep in mind that the lamps will
sweat if they are in a high humid area so it is recommended to keep them away from
showers, laundry rooms and dishwashers.
